Supersymmetric KdV equation: Darboux transformation and discrete systems
For the supersymmetric KdV equation, a proper Darboux transformation is
presented. This Darboux transformation leads to the B\"{a}cklund transformation
found early by Liu and Xie \cite{liu2}. The Darboux transformation and the
related B\"{a}cklund transformation are used to construct integrable super
differential-difference and difference-difference systems. The continuum limits
of these discrete systems and of their Lax pairs are also considered.Comment: 13pages, submitted to Journal of Physics
Polyadic Constacyclic Codes
For any given positive integer , a necessary and sufficient condition for
the existence of Type I -adic constacyclic codes is given. Further, for any
given integer , a necessary and sufficient condition for to be a
multiplier of a Type I polyadic constacyclic code is given. As an application,
some optimal codes from Type I polyadic constacyclic codes, including
generalized Reed-Solomon codes and alternant MDS codes, are constructed.Comment: We provide complete solutions on two basic questions on polyadic
constacyclic cdes, and construct some optimal codes from the polyadic
constacyclic cde
Variable-frequency-controlled coupling in charge qubit circuits: Effects of microwave field on qubit-state readout
To implement quantum information processing, microwave fields are often used
to manipulate superconuducting qubits. We study how the coupling between
superconducting charge qubits can be controlled by variable-frequency magnetic
fields. We also study the effects of the microwave fields on the readout of the
charge-qubit states. The measurement of the charge-qubit states can be used to
demonstrate the statistical properties of photons.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figure
Macroscopical Entangled Coherent State Generator in V configuration atom system
In this paper, we propose a scheme to produce pure and macroscopical
entangled coherent state. When a three-level ''V'' configuration atom interacts
with a doubly reasonant cavity, under the strong classical driven condition,
entangled coherent state can be generated from vacuum fields. An analytical
solution for this system under the presence of cavity losses is also given
Switchable coupling between charge and flux qubits
We propose a hybrid quantum circuit with both charge and flux qubits
connected to a large Josephson junction that gives rise to an effective
inter-qubit coupling controlled by the external magnetic flux. This switchable
inter-qubit coupling can be used to transfer back and forth an arbitrary
superposition state between the charge qubit and the flux qubit working at the
optimal point. The proposed hybrid circuit provides a promising quantum memory
because the flux qubit at the optimal point can store the tranferred quantum
state for a relatively long time.Comment: 5 pages, 1 figur
Anomalous Light Scattering by Topological -symmetric Particle Arrays
Robust topological edge modes may evolve into complex-frequency modes when a
physical system becomes non-Hermitian. We show that, while having negligible
forward optical extinction cross section, a conjugate pair of such complex
topological edge modes in a non-Hermitian -symmetric system can
give rise to an anomalous sideway scattering when they are simultaneously
excited by a plane wave. We propose a realization of such scattering state in a
linear array of subwavelength resonators coated with gain media. The prediction
is based on an analytical two-band model and verified by rigorous numerical
simulation using multiple-multipole scattering theory. The result suggests an
extreme situation where leakage of classical information is unnoticeable to the
transmitter and the receiver when such a -symmetric unit is
inserted into the communication channel.Comment: 16 pages, 8 figure
Reexamination of the role of hematopoietic organs on the hematopoiesis in the silkworm, Bombyx mori
Larval hematopoietic organs (HPO) are thought as the only source of circulating hemocytes in most insects. In this paper, we re-checked the importance of hematopoietic organs to hematopoiesis in the silkworm through surgical operation to remove the organs from silkworm larvae at 12 h after 5 th ecdysis. We observed that there was no significant decrease of hemocyte density but higher ratio of cell division in the HPO-removed wandering larvae. We checked and compared the total hemocytes in circulation and in 4 hematopoietic organs of each larva and found that even we suppose all hemocytes could be released from 4 organs at one time, it could not meet the circulating hemocytes increase in vivo due to huge difference. In order to monitor hemocytes movement in the hematopoietic organs to get information on hemocytes releasing in vivo, we labeled the dividing hemocytes with 5-bromo-2’-deoxyuridine (BrdU) at 12 h after 5th ecdysis and observed BrdU-positive cells in the organs for several days. Our results show that the BrdU-labeled hemocytes were not released as quickly as we thought because there were still many BrdU-positive cells in the wandering organs and some cells even had almost no changed BrdU labeling. Therefore, the silkworm larvae have a novel hematopoiesis because circulating hemocyte division might contribute huge part to the hematopoiesis

An Examination Of Underreporting Of Time And Premature Signoffs By Internal Auditors
The passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) heightened the importance of internal controls and accordingly, a key control - the internal audit function. Consequently, management and external auditors have both increased their reliance on internal auditors’ work. While there has been considerable research regarding the impact of the underreporting of time and premature sign-offs on the external audit, there has only been one study that has examined the impact of these two items on the internal auditors’ work. Such research is dated (1994) and prior to the passage of SOX. We surveyed members of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the Midwest to examine their behavior and perceptions regarding these two items. The respondents in our study believe the underreporting of time is unethical and is supported by their reporting of all time worked, even if such time exceeded the budget. Our findings also show that the respondents feel premature sign-offs are unethical and result primarily from lack of professional skepticism and inadequate training. Increasing training in audit areas and improving communications within the audit team are possible solutions to reduce premature sign-offs. Premature sign-offs are more likely to occur in operational audits and to a lesser degree in financial audits and compliance audits.
